Locating articles

The library does not currently subscribe to a database specific to cinema, but it does provide access to various databases that include materials related to the field. In addition, these are cross-disciplinary databases that include citations to articles and reviews, many of which are full text.

Covers the history and culture of the United States and Canada, from prehistory to the present. Includes full text.
American Decades
Cross-disciplinary. Information on periods of contemporary American social history from 1900-1999.
Daily Life Through History
Cross-disciplinary resource that supports history, social studies, English, and language students; gives life to history and context to current events.
JSTOR
Cross-disciplinary database. Includes full-text articles from over 2,000 publications.
ProQuest Central
Citations, abstracts, and full-text articles and graphics from more than 10,000 magazines, journals and newspapers.

Useful books

Books at the COC Library are shelved by Library of Congress Classification. In this system, books on cinema are mostly found in the call number range PN1993 - PN1999.
